My name is Jasmine Baird, I am from Georgetown, Ontario and a current member of the Canadian National Slopestyle & Big Air team. I am currently living in Whistler, British Columbia but travelling around the world for snowboard competitions and training. My parents first taught me to snowboard when I was about 2 years old at Beaver Valley Ski Club in Ontario. I fell in love with snowboarding right away and knew I wanted my life to revolve around this sport. I am currently in training for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, China coming up in February. Ever since I got into freestyle snowboarding at about 13 years old I have been dreaming of competing at the Olympics. I am so grateful to be living my biggest dream of travelling the world to snowboard, meeting some amazing people, building a career out of my passion and with the Games coming up so soon, I couldn’t be more excited.
Snowboarding is everything to me, it has always been my biggest outlet for stress and it is something I’ve always had that makes me happy and gives me a sense of purpose. If I was ever dealing with tough times in my life, I could always count on snowboarding to make me feel better, it was always there for me to help change my focus and remember all the amazing things life can bring and to always be grateful for the good parts. My pure passion for this sport is what has driven me to where I am today. I hope to snowboard for as long as possible and to hopefully inspire other women and girls to follow their dreams and believe in themselves.
